DUCATI MOTORBIKES AT IMPERIA WINTER REGATTAImperia, 28th November 2006 - Ducati, the company established in 1926 and producing sport motorbikes featuring powerful "desmodromics" engines, innovative design and vanguard technology, in 2006 ties his name to sailing on the occasion of of Imperia Winter Regatta.
IWR in 2006 has its 17th birthday and more than 250 team will be racing fro 3rd to 10th December in a series of races on the sailing area in front of Imperia Porto Maurizio, the westerly Liguria town featuring a mild weather all over the year.
Olympic centerboards Lasers, 470s and windsurfers RS:X with Laser 4.7s, 420s and L'Equipe (for sailors aged 12-15 years) are the classes taking part in the IWR.
In the harbour area where the boats will be when not at sea everyone could have a look at several different Ducati motorbikes showed by Motoplanet, Ducati Store of the area, including the brand new model 1098 that can be seen from 8th to 10th december.
On the track, Ducati has amassed a string of World Superbike Championships unprecedented in the history of motorcycle racing: thirteen of the last fifteen World SBK titles and more individual victories than the competition put together, not to mention an impressive return to MotoGP in 2003 and countless more successes in other championships.
