History
Born 18 years ago and continuously developed during the years by the friendly and careful attention of the organizing clubs
(in the past Porto Maurizio Yacht Club, Circolo Velico Imperiese, LNI Im, and now YCIM), the Imperia Winter Regatta is now
a popular winter event. It's officially enclosed into international ISAF Calendar since 2001,
and in the last three edition also the 470 Olympic class sailed this event.
And now you could see five dinghy classes sailing in the warm waters of Imperia!
- L'Equipe, Youth dinghy, where young crews sail first agonistic races in double.
- 420, Youth International class, one of the most popular double dinghy, fundamental step before sailing Olympic dinghies.
- 470, Olympic double-handed dinghy, one of the most competitive and popular olympic classes
Two new classes are officially invited starting IWR 2006:
Laser, single-handed dinghy, the most popular single in the world, sailing in 115 different countries
RS:X, the new succesful windsurf for next Olympic Games.
