IMPERIA WINTER REGATTA 470, 420, L'EQUIPE 2ND DAYImperia, 9th December 2006 - No races in the second day for 420, 470
and L'Equipe class Imperia Winter Regatta.
After the storms of the opening day, the weather was good in a
sunshine day: the sea was still rough, but the wind was good for
sailing. Unfortunately the Coast Guard advised a south-westerly storm
warning and did not allow the 250 boat fleet (11 countries- Austria,
Estonia, Finland, France, Hungary, Germany, Netherlands, Poland,
Italy, Monaco, Switzerland) to go at sea. For this reason the Race
Committee with its chairman Fulvio Parodi from Imperia was forced to
hoist AP ashore and keep the team waiting for better weather
conditions. Unfortunately meanwhile the wind dropped completely and
at the beginning of afternoon the RC cancelled every activity.
Tomorrow 470, 420 male and L'equipe start is scheduled at 9.30 am;
420 female 9.45am. The prizegiving ceremony will be run after the
races with Yacht Club Imperia chairman Riccardo Guatelli in Porto
Maurizio harbour marquee.
Motoplanet, area store of DUCATI, the company established in 1926 and
producing sport motorbikes featuring powerful "desmodromics" engines,
innovative design and vanguard technology will be present at IWR with
brand new model 1098 from 8th to 10th December exhibit on the area
where the boats will be parked ashore, on the harbour.
The IWR event has the contribution of the Sport, Tourism and Events
Council of the town, the patronage of the local governments and the
cooperation of the Coast Guard, Imperia Mare (tourist harbour of
Imperia), and LNI Imperia.
